Chief Executive Officer

Raleigh, North Carolina  |
Wake County

Are you professionally committed to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)? Do you lead with a vision rooted in inclusion, aiming to drive systemic change within our community? Can you cultivate a culture of advocacy and self-determination, leading the charge to ensure that every person with IDD is empowered to make decisions about their own lives?

If your natural tendency is placing people first, recognizing the inherent value of every individual, and you are dedicated to deepening your connection with the IDD community, then you may be the ideal candidate to become the next Chief Executive Officer for The Arc of North Carolina.

Why?

The Arc of North Carolina has been providing advocacy and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1953.

The Arc of NC began as a grassroots movement by families striving to create better opportunities for their children who were often denied access to essential services like day care, public education, and vocational opportunities. Over the decades, The Arc of NC has grown into a powerful organization which strongly advocates for the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities, significantly influencing policies and establishing vital services across the state.

The Arc of NC has a legacy of change-making and has continuously pushed for advancements in how society supports and recognizes those in the IDD community. This work now involves providing direct services in addition to the broad advocacy and policy efforts that ensure individuals with disabilities can lead fulfilling, independent lives.

Joining The Arc of NC means being part of a movement that values human rights and actively supports the full inclusion and participation of people with disabilities throughout their lifetimes, working to ensure that they have the same opportunities to learn, live, work, and play just like anyone else.
