Who You Are

Serving as a core member of the CaroNova leadership team, the Director of Portfolio Design and Implementation leads the co-design, testing and replication activities of CaroNova’s portfolio areas. Reporting to the Vice President of Health Transformation, this role ensures that a rigorous and effective testing and implementation framework is deployed to move CaroNova strategies and opportunities to sustainable solutions.

 

The Director of Portfolio Design and Implementation will hold broad knowledge of the national and local healthcare landscape and proven skills in developing and leading performance improvement programs, ideally in healthcare, population health, or public health. The Director of Portfolio Design and Implementation will also have a successful track record of scoping projects according to identified needs and challenges with interventions and technical assistance aligned to maximize impact. This role will need to demonstrate a strong grasp and practical application of performance improvement strategies and implementation science best practices. Leading a small team of program managers and working closely with payors, providers, government entities, and academic partners, the Director of Portfolio Design and Implementation will ensure CaroNova’s continued programmatic success and sustained impact.

What You'll Do

  • Lead CaroNova’s programmatic development and implementation strategy, in partnership with the VP of Health Transformation to ensure projects are meeting strategic objectives, consistent with CaroNova’s mission
  • Develop and manage CaroNova’s performance improvement programs and coaching network for sustained program areas in collaboration with the VP of Health Transformation
  • Partner with the research and data analytics team on program evaluation design and performance monitoring, and leverage data and reporting to drive programs
  • Facilitate discussions with subject matter experts, payers, and providers on the design and testing of multi-site pilots to create alternative payment mechanisms for new models of care
  • Assess and monitor program resource needs: subject matter expertise, technology, data assets, information, and staffing needed to achieve program goals
  • Support the ongoing management of effective systems to track performance so that impact can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other stakeholders
  • Provide leadership on the development and maintenance of coaching and technical assistance plans and resources
  • Lead program managers in the development and management of effective and actionable work plans to guide programmatic deliverables
  • Collaborate on programmatic reporting to philanthropic and payor partners on progress of pilots, changes to implementation plans, and updated timelines

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in public health, healthcare administration, social work, or a related field preferred
  • 7 years+ of experience developing and leading performance improvement initiatives in non-profit health, social, or educational organization
  • Deep knowledge and experience pilot testing, implementation and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Extensive experience providing or designing coaching and technical assistance services.
  • Strong grasp of data, evaluation, and research methodologies
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
Salary and Benefits

The annual salary for this position is $100,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
