Position Overview: North Raleigh Ministries (NRM) equips families and individuals in crisis with the resources and skills they need to achieve stability. This is accomplished through evidence-informed and community-based programs aimed at fostering hope, purpose, and well-being. The Donor Relations Coordinator is a key member of North Raleigh Ministries (NRM) development team, working closely with the Development Director to implement strategies that increase and sustain fundraising efforts. This role focuses on donor engagement, stewardship, and recognition, ensuring a high-quality donor experience that fosters long-term investment in NRM’s mission. The Coordinator will manage donor relationships, oversee donor data, and contribute to annual fundraising campaigns to support the expansion of NRM’s programs and services.
Position Responsibilities:
Donor Relations and Stewardship: (50%)
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with new and existing donors, fostering trust and engagement.
- Serve as project lead for annual giving appeals, including Spring and End-of-Year fundraising drives.
- Collaborate with the development team to develop an annual plan to meet or exceed fundraising goals.
- Create and execute donor stewardship plans, including personalized thank-you notes, recognition events, and touchpoints to deepen donor relationships.
- Work with marketing and program teams to develop donor communication materials, including print and digital appeals.
- Coordinate donor engagement initiatives such as donor appreciation events, published recognition lists, and special opportunities for donor involvement.
Donor Data Management and Reporting: (5%)
- Maintain accurate donor records, tracking all gifts, interactions, history, and fundraising outcomes within the donor CRM database.
- Generate donor reports, spreadsheets, and graphics to support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure data integrity by identifying and resolving inconsistencies within donor records.
Administrative and Communication Support: (5%)
- Manage donor agreements, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with organizational policies.
- Oversee logistics for donor meetings, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-ups.
- Maintain and update donor-related content on NRM’s website and giving platforms.
- Collaborate with the Finance Director to ensure timely gift processing and reporting.
- Support outreach efforts, including fundraising campaigns, impact reports, and social media content.
- Assist with incoming mail processing and distribution per organizational policies.
Prospect Identification and Pipeline Development: (40%)
- Identify, qualify, and cultivate prospective donors to build a pipeline for major gifts.
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 individual donors, focusing on those capable of giving up to $100,000.
- Develop relationships with key NRM stakeholders, including leadership, volunteers, board members, and program staff, to enhance donor engagement.
- Represent NRM at community events and donor gatherings.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development preferred.
- Experience with donor CRM systems and data management.
- Proven experience in donor relations, fundraising campaigns, and stewardship programs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and maintain donor relationships with diplomacy, empathy, and professionalism.
- Understanding of best practices in philanthropic giving and donor cultivation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and donor CRM databases.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
- Occasional evening and weekend work is required for events and donor meetings.
- Regular local travel and some regional in-state travel are required.
