President and Chief Executive Officer
Child Care Resources Inc.
Child Care Resources Inc. invites nominations and applications for the position of President and Chief Executive Officer (President/CEO). Child Care Resources Inc. (CCRI) is a private, non-profit child care resource and referral (CCR&R) agency that works with families and communities to ensure that all children have access to high-quality, affordable early learning and school-age opportunities and experiences that enable them to succeed in school and in life.
CCRI is the driving force behind child care services for families across the economic spectrum in Mecklenburg County and the surrounding region. Beyond its direct service area, CCRI also plays a critical role at the state and regional levels by leading several key statewide initiatives, serving as one of three agencies that co-lead the NC CCR&R Council, and advocating for systemic improvements through an array of supportive services for young children, their families, and early educators and program administrators. CCRI serves central Carolina families of children from birth through five seeking early care and education programs, and families of school age children seeking licensed, before and after school child care programs. CCRI centers of expertise include family information services, program and business consultation, financial aid, and early care and education (ECE) data, analysis, planning, and policy development. CCRI is also an Early Head Start grant recipient and a Child and Adult Care Food Program sponsor.
Based in Charlotte, NC, the President/CEO is responsible for all aspects of leading and operating the organization under the direction of the Board of Directors. These broad responsibilities include fiscal and budgetary control, strategic planning, administrative direction, and leading and managing a team of approximately 17 senior managers and a total of approximately 115 employees.
The successful candidate will exhibit a commitment to CCRI’s mission, goals, and programs. She/he will have the ability to inspire excellence within the field, and the ability to lead, formulate, interpret, and articulate CCRI’s vision, mission, imperative, values and goals to the Board of Directors within a dynamic operating environment. A deep knowledge and experience in early care and education and school age child care policy, a strong knowledge and understanding of child care resource and referral, along with competence in planning, research, and team-based quality improvement and proven grant writing and fundraising success is needed. This excellent communicator and analytical and strategic thinker will be skilled in influence and political navigation. A Master’s degree in early childhood and family development, or related human services field, or combination of bachelor’s degree and demonstrated senior management experience and executive child care resource and referral experience is strongly preferred.
