Program and Communications Associate

The North Carolina Dental Society Foundation (NCDSF) seeks an experienced non-profit program implementation and communications professional to support its growing oral health initiatives across North Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement plans, adhering to established budgets, to achieve set goals for assigned foundation programs.
  • Establish and maintain a working relationship with the respective program stakeholders, staff, and volunteers.
  • Participate in all program-related meetings.
  • Adhere to program reporting requirements, develop success matrices, track outcomes, and submit timely grant reports.
  • Develop program updates and marketing content regularly.
  • Manage the Foundation’s grantmaking to other organizations, individual dentists, dental schools, and the dental assisting and hygiene scholarships cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating the announcement and after that, the intake process, screening applications, and working with the Program Director and grants review committee to select recipients. 
  • Collaborate with the NCDS Marketing team on organizational communications, including emails, newsletters, press releases, and social media for maximum outreach of programs.
  • Update the website and support the Fund Development Director as needed with donor management requirements.  

Team and Interactions: While the program associate reports directly to the Fund Development and Program Director, the ability to work and make decisions independently is critical. A complete team-based collaboration approach is in place across the three organizations NC Dental Society, NC Dental Society Foundation and NC Services for Dentistry. Regular interaction will occur with the CEO and Executive Director, Chief Innovation Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and Chief Governance and Operating Officer, other NCDS staff, and key external constituents, ensuring a rewarding experience and productive work environment.

Position Location and Travel
The position is located in Cary, North Carolina. The work environment is hybrid, with the requirement to come into the office on Tuesdays and whenever else business might dictate, typically a few additional days per month. Some overnight travel within North Carolina will be required.
