Program Associate

The Program Associate provides administrative support to the Program Department, including the Vice President, Program Officers, Scholarship Officer and Grants Manager, and supports all aspects of CFWNC grantmaking and scholarship activity. This position also provides support for front desk and phone coverage. The Program Associate reports to the Vice President of Programs and is a salaried position.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for all Program Department functions, including work related to various advisory, grant and scholarship committees.

• Communicate effectively with applicants, grantees, students, committee members, nonprofit organizations, donors, fundholders and volunteers, as needed.

• Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations and meeting materials with accuracy and timeliness.

• Provide backup support in greeting visitors to the Foundation’s office, answering the Foundation's main line and directing calls accordingly.

• Schedule and coordinate Program Department meetings and events, assisting with all aspects of planning, implementation and follow-up.

• Prepare materials and record minutes for Distribution Committee meetings.

• Respond to queries regarding grants, scholarships, and Program information.

• Create and update database records and create database reports.

• Update the program, scholarship and grant-related webpages in coordination with Communications Director.

• Other duties as assigned.

• College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Significant office-based administrative work experience.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry objects of at least 15 pounds and up to 50 pounds in weight, occasionally lifting overhead. Ability to drive an automobile for up to three consecutive hours at a time. Job duties require approximately 85% sitting/typing and 15% standing/walking. Physical requirements will vary depending upon the specific duties to be accomplished.

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary range for this position is $48,000 to $51,000. Compensation will be commensurate with skill level and experience with an annual performance and salary review. Foundation employees participate in a Paid Time Off accrual system initially equivalent to 25 days off per year, plus nine additional paid holidays, volunteer time off and paid parental/family leave. CFWNC offers participation in group health, dental, vision life insurance and retirement plans to eligible employees. Work location is primarily at CFWNC’s office; however, staff may work remotely up to four days a month.
