Business and Finance Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain all financial records to ensure compliance with regulations, contracts, and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Ensure agency compliance with all finance policies
  • Manage all payroll and accounts payable processes, including coding of billables to various funding sources and providing documentation to those funding sources
  • Provide reports and supports to third-party accountant and fourth-party auditors
  • Draft, and ensure compliance with, all vendor contracts
  • In conjunction with the Executive Director, develop the organization’s annual budget to ensure continuity of services
  • Uncover opportunities to strengthen and diversify the fundraising program by researching and identifying new prospects among government agencies, foundations, congregations, affiliations, corporations, and individual donors. 
  • Grant writing and management for federal, state, and other grants
  • Maintain existing donor management and retention software database, including generating acknowledgements for all donations received
  • Provide oversight and compliance auditing for all medical and mental health service billing to government and private insurance payors via third-party biller
  • Audit vendor services to ensure compliance with contracts and applicable laws
  • Assist the Executive Director with project management, presentations, board meetings and correspondence
  • Assist the Executive Director with reporting to and support of the Board of Directors and all standing committees
  • Participate in community committees and/or boards as a representative of THCAC
  • Other duties as required

Education/Work Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree
  • Must have at least 5 years of administrative, finance, and leadership experience
  • Non-profit experience preferred
  • Grant writing experience preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of agency administration and organizational structure and dynamics of working with a Board of Directors.
  • Experience in major gift fundraising - retaining, cultivating, stewarding and relating to major donors across key sectors – individuals, corporations, foundations, congregations and affiliations
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal legislative process.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
  • Knowledge of personnel and budget administration.
  • Verbal communication skills to make presentations on local, state, and national levels.
  • Ability to comprehend large amounts of varied materials in a limited time and listening skills to interpret communications from team members, Board of Directors and diverse community.
  • Experience with database and/or fundraising software utilization and management
  • Ability to be flexible, especially in terms of non-traditional working hours.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate well with people.
