About College Foundation, Inc. (CFI):

The mission of College Foundation, Inc. is to provide services to North Carolinians that will empower them to achieve their academic goals. A nonprofit focused on financial assistance for higher education, CFI administers a portfolio of private education loans, several state and private grant and scholarship programs for students attending North Carolina colleges and universities, and the NC 529 college savings program on behalf of the N.C. State Education Assistance Authority. CFI also promotes access to higher education and assists students with planning, applying and paying for college through College Foundation of North Carolina initiatives.

Hybrid Position

Position Purpose:

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Program Services Representative is responsible for promoting the NC 529 college savings program and the NC Assist loan program.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with financial aid administrators at colleges.
  • Market NC Assist to colleges through in person and virtual visits.
  • Stay abreast of state and federal changes that could have an impact on the private loan industry.
  • Have a strong understanding of the ELMSelect and FastChoice system.
  • Identify and research prospects, businesses, schools and other community representatives to create an effective network for promoting NC 529.
  • Actively participate in marketing and outreach efforts with the creative agency representing NC 529.
  • Work with employers, families, and groups interested in the NC 529 on programs or other activities to promote saving for college.
  • Be available for radio, TV, and other media interviews.
  • Assist with social media content and marketing strategies.
  • Take the lead in information requests from schools, colleges, businesses, and community groups.
  • Utilize project management software to track visits and other contact with schools, colleges, businesses, and community groups. Prepare activity reports.
  • Attend conferences/annual meetings for NCASFAA, CACRAO and other professional meetings as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience in customer service, preferably in the student loan industry, a call center or equivalent preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to travel throughout the state independently as scheduled, including consecutive days.
  • Must have a valid NC driver’s license.
  • Mobility in entering and exiting places of business for programs.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
