Building Organizational Resilience
Many nonprofit teams are not equipped to handle unexpected, chaotic, or emotionally-charged situations. The best remedy is to take steps that will help your team apply critical thinking skills to make the best possible decisions when facing unexpected circumstances beyond their control. The North Carolina Center for Nonprofits and Duke Energy teamed up with the Nonprofit Risk Management Center to design a toolkit and host a four-part webinar series, Building Organizational Resilience, to help your nonprofit take the necessary steps to prepare for any crisis or disaster.
Walking the Talk: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in North Carolina Nonprofits
One of the Center’s core values is to respect and include the wide variety of North Carolina’s people, cultures, regions, religions, and political views. To live this value, we've partnered with NCCJ of the Piedmont Triad in Walking the Talk: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in North Carolina Nonprofits.
Executive Succession and Deepening the Bench
By 2020, North Carolina's nonprofit sector will see nearly 60% of its executive directors/CEOs leave their positions. Many are retiring baby boomers. Others are leaving for better, less stressful opportunities. Still others are departing suddenly, leaving their organizations with no one at the helm. The Center's Executive Succession and Deepening the Bench initiative is helping nonprofit CEOs and boards plan and implement effective executive successions and deepen the staff bench for future leaders.
