The Center is hosting a free webinar on Friday, November 15 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. to provide a preview of what's in store for public policy issues affecting North Carolina nonprofits after the 2024 election. We'll start by highlighting some key election results that could impact nonprofits' advocacy with the NC General Assembly and the executive branch of state government in 2025 and 2026. We'll also share information about the ways that the election results could shape the policy landscape at the state and federal level for the remainder of 2024 and in 2025. And we'll provide the latest on legislative support for Hurricane Helene relief and recovery and the status of the U.S. Department of Labor's overtime rule, which is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2025.

Before returning to North Carolina to work for the Center, David spent seven years as an attorney with a Washington, D.C. law firm serving the nonprofit community. He lives in Raleigh with his wife and three children, the oldest of whom describes her dad as “weathered.”
