Background: 

Habitat for Humanity of North Carolina (Habitat NC) is a 501(c)(3) and serves as a support organization to the 57 Habitat affiliates across North Carolina. Founded in 2008, Habitat NC facilitates increased housing production and neighborhood revitalization efforts by coordinating advocacy activities, providing training and technical support, aiding in disaster recovery, and engaging in resource development that benefits affiliates statewide. We exist to serve the affiliates. 

Job Description: 

 Responsibilities:  

  • Oversee a variety of lending and grant programs to local Habitat affiliates throughout NC in coordination with the President & CEO and Board of Directors. 
  • Assist with relationships with funding partners such as financial institutions, agencies, and foundations in coordination with the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Assist in developing and implementing lending and grant programs, parameters, qualifications, and due diligence with affiliates.

  • Develop and maintain a detailed database for each affiliate relationship. Perform monitoring of outstanding loans and grants, including onsite visits, written periodic progress reports, and authorization of loan draw requests as needed. 

  • Assure full compliance with funding source requirements and reporting, as well as with ASO documentation with affiliates. Communicate problem areas immediately. 

  • Review participating affiliate quarterly financial and progress reports, including cash flow, income statements and balance sheets for loans; as well as implementation and expenditures of grants. 

  • Prepare required periodic reports to funding sources and assure timely repayment of outstanding loans and proper uses of grants. 

  • Provide periodic program evaluation assessing both the effectiveness and efficiency of program delivery. 

Location: Remote in North Carolina, USA 

 Qualifications:  

  • Experience in commercial or residential real estate/mortgage banking is required 

  • Experience with using QuickBooks or other accounting software 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, master’s preferred 

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, and a proactive attitude 

  • Proven analytical expertise 

  • Success as a team player and a commitment to overall excellence 

  • Proficient use of spreadsheets, PowerPoints, proformas, etc. 

  • Project management experience of at least 2 years 

  • Strong work ethic, sense of urgency and detail-oriented 

  • Commitment to the Habitat mission of providing quality and affordable housing to lower income working families 

Salary and Benefits

The salary range is $65,000-$75,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Habitat for Humanity is an equal opportunity employer and offers a competitive benefits package.
