The AmeriCorps Seniors Program Manager plays a pivotal role in empowering older adults to make a meaningful difference in their community. This dynamic position offers a unique opportunity to engage with seniors, nonprofits, and community partners while managing a vital national service program.

As the Program Manager, you'll be responsible for the daily operations, growth, and success of the AmeriCorps Seniors program in Durham. Your duties will encompass volunteer recruitment and management, partnership development, grant compliance, and program marketing. You'll work closely with older adult volunteers, matching their skills and passions with impactful volunteer opportunities at local nonprofits.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting and supporting older adult volunteers
  • Building and maintaining relationships with community partners
  • Ensuring compliance with federal guidelines and program metrics
  • Coordinating volunteer activities, recognition, and training
  • Managing program budgets and reporting
  • Overseeing program marketing and community outreach

Salary and Benefits

Posted Salary is for full-time.  Part-time and/or 3/4 time  are possible options and the salary will be pro-rated based on hours and experience. 

Position includes Vacation/Sick/Holiday and other personal leave.  Staff leave  equates to about 40 days annually. 

Retirement benefits after a vesting period.
