  • To promote the appreciation and writing of poetry throughout the state, through readings, workshops, and annual contest, and special programs (at Weymouth Center for the Humanities, Southern Pines NC).

  • To perform fine choral music, primarily masterworks with orchestra; to promote the choral art; and to enrich the cultural life of the singers, audience, artistic community and community at large.

  • To provide high quality health news about/for North Carolina, non-partisan and independent.

  • To produce "The Lost Colony", America's Premiere Symphonic Outdoor Drama, written by Pulitzer-Prize winner and native North Carolinian, Paul Green.

  • To promote ceramic arts, advance artists and students, and enrich the communities.
