Upstairs Artspace is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to develop an understanding and appreciation of contemporary art and craft forms through exhibits, programs, and educational activities that enrich the cultural life of the region.
We extend our heartfelt support to the communities impacted by Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina. We'll continue to share resources for nonprofits and how to help.

To teach choral music to youth in the Durham NC community and to share their talents via public performance.
To establish a museum and interpretive center to provide education about the old Sunset Beach Bridge and to celebrate the history and culture of Sunset Beach.
To promote and preserve the art and history of quilts through education of its members, and to inspire community involvement.
The Winston-Salem Choral Academy offers a joyful and empowering experience for children and youth through vocal music education and artistic excellence in choral music performance.
To promote the appreciation and writing of poetry throughout the state, through readings, workshops, and annual contest, and special programs (at Weymouth Center for the Humanities, Southern Pines NC).
To perform fine choral music, primarily masterworks with orchestra; to promote the choral art; and to enrich the cultural life of the singers, audience, artistic community and community at large.
To provide high quality health news about/for North Carolina, non-partisan and independent.
To produce "The Lost Colony", America's Premiere Symphonic Outdoor Drama, written by Pulitzer-Prize winner and native North Carolinian, Paul Green.
