S - Community Improvement & Capacity Building

  • Restoration Weldon is organized exclusively for charitable, community revitalization, and education purposes. Its overall mission is to establish a group of volunteers who live, have lived, or consider themselves from Weldon, North Carolina, who will actively participate in the development of Weldon and the surrounding area as a thriving community of people dedicated to creating the best environment for a better life.

  • Aims to cultivate parent leadership and improve the conditions to better support family engagement and students educational needs. Our mission is to dismantle systemic racial inequities in education. We do this by intentionally engaging Black parents and empowering them through collective organization to advocate for accountability at all levels to close the educational opportunity gap.

  • Building a stronger Burke County community by empowering self-sufficiency; increasing housing stability; and fostering opportunities and success for youth.

  • At the North Carolina Budget & Tax Center, we envision a state where every person can reach their full potential and achieve well-being through the support of trustworthy, anti-racist institutions and systems that we all participate in building. The NC Budget & Tax Center is a non-partisan organization that works to document fiscal and economic conditions in communities to support the work of people, organizations, and government to advance solutions to poverty and pursue racial equity.

  • Communities in Partnership (CIP) cultivates grassroots leadership and builds community resilience through collective action and transformational organizing. We envision Old East Durham and the surrounding area as a vibrant place where all residents have an exceptional quality of life with the economic and political power to impact decision making that affects their community.

  • We are a grassroots harm reduction organization providing outreach, advocacy, and direct services to those impacted by drug use, incarceration, sex work, overdose, and HIV/HCV in a judgement-free environment.

  • The mission of Triangle Native American Society is to promote and protect the identity of Native Americans living in the Triangle area.
