Notably, special licenses for charitable solicitation or serving alcohol, as well as the tax deductibility for the donor's contribution and the nonprofit's income are factors to consider.   • The Change Agentz podcast is hosted by consultant Tracy Allen. "We are helping social enterprises/entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and small businesses shift their mindsets, stay focused, and informed on their path to success. We discuss tips and strategies to build and grow a profitable, sustainable, and compliant infrastructure that builds capacity to create and maximize impact."

     

  • Board Development: Real-World Insights from the Haas Leadership Initiative reflects on case studies to demonstrate how "board development has to be about more than simply equipping boards with the skills and the systems to do their work more effectively. It has to be about answering this question: 'What does this organization need its board to be – and do – in order to succeed?' " (Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, 2014) 

  • Nonprofit gift acceptance policies set forth the what, who, when, how, and where for receiving different types of gifts. Creating and maintaining gift acceptance policies is not only good governance but also allows your organization to think through and outline the advantages and disadvantages of different donor scenarios.
