  • Inspiring wonder, curiosity, and lifelong learning in our children and community through interactive play and discovery. We achieve this through the overlapping lenses of literacy, the arts, and STEM.

  • The Piedmont Community Band is a performance oriented, non-profit 501c(3) organization comprised of volunteer musicians. The band presents concerts in the spring, fall and Christmas seasons. The band also performs at other special events in the area such as outdoor celebrations in the park and for other events upon invitation. We have musicians ranging in age from accomplished high school musicians to silver seniors.
  • To provide handbell music to community in memory of children who have died.

  • To preserve our barns in history and in fact.

  • To promote music as a fundamental component of education and to provide opportunities for lifelong learning by supporting teachers, students and communities in developing and fostering excellence in music.

  • The Earl Scruggs Center engages with and serves guests from the community and world as a
    cultural destination, community gathering place, and educational resource. The Center provides
    opportunities for all to engage with and learn about legendary five-string banjo master Earl
    Scruggs and the unique and engaging history and cultural traditions of the community and
    region where he was born and raised. This is accomplished through presentation of engaging
    long-term and special exhibits, state of the art technology, diverse programming, educational

  • To provide creative opportunities for children and adolescents who battle cancer and other life-threatening diseases and physical disabilities; to create opportunities for individuals, including college students and artists, to teach children and adolescents who battle life-threatening disease and physical disabilities; to educate the public and foster a clearer understanding of childhood illness and disease.

  • To revitalize downtown Tryon, historic preservation, economic enhancement and serve streetscape design.

  • To preserve, protect and promote the historic value of this historic neighborhood.
