Wake County Smart Start is seeking a Pre-K Program Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and programmatic support to the Pre-K Department, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, supporting family and community engagement efforts, and helping to implement key program activities.
- Hiring Range: Maximum $40,336

- Work Environment: This position is a hybrid position. The direct supervisor will define the work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support:
- Process child applications and perform eligibility reviews
- Support attendance tracking and data entry
- Assist with database management, reporting, and evaluation tasks
Administrative Assistance:
- Coordinate meetings and events, prepare reports, and maintain department files
- Provide tech support for office equipment and ensure department supplies are stocked
- Update program materials and website content in collaboration with staff
Family & Community Engagement:
- Greet families, respond to inquiries, and provide general support
- Assist with community events and represent WCSS positively
- Participate in team meetings and provide backup for other admin roles when needed
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in business administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with databases; Spanish fluency preferred
