    To intentionally build an inclusive organization, there needs to be a culture of belonging, where differences are recognized and celebrated. “Belonging” was the theme of our 2021 Conference, where Jaki Shelton Green, NC Poet Laureate and our opening keynote, spoke about the power of our stories. She referenced the American author, Joan Didion, who once said, “We tell ourselves stories in order to live.”

  • Not all forms of diversity are visible identities. In the case of neurodiversity, the differences between people stems from variations in cognitive functions around sociability, learning abilities, and other intellectual processes.

  • Three transgender inclusion guides developed by The American Alliance of Museums are meant to aid organizations, coworkers, and transgender professionals with the HR processes related to gender transitions in the workplace and better implementation of transgender inclusion policies.
