The North Carolina Center for Nonprofits was founded by Jane Kendall in October 1990 after three years of research pointed to the need for nonprofits to work together to strengthen their organizations and the nonprofit sector. 2,153 leaders in nonprofits, foundations, and businesses from all 100 NC counties helped set our priorities, and regular input from nonprofit members help us continuously improve and respond to the changing nonprofit environment.
