Chief Finance & Administrative Officer (CFAO)

Winston Salem, North Carolina  |
Forsyth County

At Senior Services, we believe older adults deserve to age with dignity, independence, and support—and that the people who serve with us deserve strong leadership, clear direction, and meaningful support.

We are seeking a Chief Finance & Administrative Officer (CFAO) to help lead and strengthen the internal operations that make our mission possible.

This is a key executive role responsible for connecting strategy to execution—ensuring our financial, people, and operational systems are aligned, effective, and built for long-term sustainability.

The Role

The CFAO serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and Leadership Team, overseeing:

  • Finance & Accounting
  • Human Resources
  • Data & Analytics
  • Business Operations (IT, facilities, and infrastructure)

This role is not just about managing functions—it’s about bringing them together in a way that supports better decision-making, stronger teams, and a more sustainable organization.

You’ll help take big-picture direction and turn it into clear, practical systems that support staff, strengthen operations, and move the organization forward.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Strengthen internal systems, processes, and operational efficiency
  • Partner with HR to support workforce planning, performance management, and staff development
  • Use data to guide decision-making across departments
  • Support and advise the CEO, Leadership Team, and Board of Directors
  • Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and risk management practices
  • Oversee administrative and operational functions that keep the organization running effectively

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a thoughtful, steady leader who can balance strategy with execution.

You might be a strong fit if you:

  • Bring strong financial analysis and operational experience, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven setting
  • Use data to guide decisions, not just confirm them
  • Can take a high-level vision and turn it into clear, actionable plans
  • Understand how to lead across multiple functions without losing focus
  • Are comfortable working with leadership teams, boards, and external partners
  • Communicate clearly and build trust across all levels of the organization
  • Lead with integrity, sound judgment, and a steady presence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (Business, Finance, Public Administration, or related field)
  • At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience
  • Experience in two or more of the following areas:
  • Finance / Financial Planning
  • Human Resources
  • Operations
  • Strategic Planning
  • Data / Business Analysis
  • Nonprofit experience strongly preferred

Why This Role Matters

This position plays a critical role in shaping how our organization operates—how decisions are made, how teams are supported, and how we sustain and grow our impact in the community.

If you are someone who wants to do meaningful work while strengthening the foundation that makes that work possible, we’d welcome your application.
