Development Director of Strategic Partnerships

The Development Director of Strategic Partnerships works with the Senior VP of
Development to build the funding capacity of Special Olympics North Carolina by working with staff and volunteers to establish and/or renew relationships with existing and prospective donors.

The Development Director of Strategic Partnerships works with the Senior VP of
Development to build the funding capacity of Special Olympics North Carolina by working with staff and
volunteers to establish and/or renew relationships with existing and prospective donors.

• Assist with a sustainable fund development plan that will increase revenue each year to support the strategic direction of SONC, while also diversifying our donor base both demographically and geographically.
• Develop and institute methods of evaluation to continuously improve development systems.
• Responsible for timely, accurate and compelling reporting to donors.
• Increase engagement across corporate, foundations, and individual giving channels.
• Leverage both grassroots and traditional fundraising methods to enhance the annual giving program and a portfolio of major individual donors, upgrade existing donor base and lead efforts to research, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new individual supporters.
• Provide education around our mission and advocacy.
• Support grassroots advocacy partners community members to obtain funding.
• Collaborate with the Communications Dept staff to advance awareness and marketing of SONC
development campaigns and increase our prospective donor pool.
• Demonstrated experience with a variety of fundraising strategies including major gifts, special events,
corporate giving, employee giving, online/social media giving, and grants.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across programs, listen to and respect viewpoints of others and share recognition.
• Ability to develop long term plans, set objectives and track progress across goals.
• Experience managing a donor database, such as Salesforce.
• Experience with peer-to-peer online fundraising platforms.
• Ability to make public presentations about Special Olympics to various constituents.
• Other duties as assigned.
