Role Summary: We are seeking a visionary Executive Director who embodies a "player-coach" mentality—someone who can confidently lead our internal operations and staff while aggressively driving our external growth and donor development. With our daily programming efficiently managed by a dedicated Program Manager, the Executive Director will provide high-level operational oversight while dedicating significant focus to expanding community awareness of our transformational organization, diversifying funding streams, and cultivating donor relationships. The ideal candidate possesses a deep, substantial background in the 12-Step recovery setting, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of securing resources to scale non-profit impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Operations: Oversee the overall daily operation and function of New Beginnings Hickory, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and organizational policies.
• Staff Supervision: Locate, interview, supervise, and support all staff members, responsible for ongoing staff training and development.
• Recovery Culture: Maintain a positive environment and atmosphere for recovery, which includes leading and participating in staff and house meetings.
• Facility Oversight: Responsible for overseeing building and property maintenance and resolving issues that require repair.
• Community Ambassador: Act as the primary ambassador of NBH in public forums to increase awareness, foster community partnerships, and expand our donor base.
• Fundraising & Development: Build an effective development process, prepare a written annual fundraising plan, and successfully meet or exceed annual financial fundraising goals.
• Donor Relations: Improve, implement, and manage the donor relations process, including maintaining the CRM Software (Bloomerang) and providing detailed pipeline reports to the Board.
• Marketing & Events: Write fundraising and campaign marketing copy, provide social media/website content, and take the lead in planning stellar special events.
• Financial Management: Assist with budget development, monitor financial performance, submit bi-weekly payroll, and oversee grant writing initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Substantial, proven experience and a deep understanding of substance abuse recovery principles and the 12-Step program.
• Proven leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit or recovery setting, with the ability to manage staff and facility operations.
• Strong track record in donor relations, fundraising, budget management, and community outreach.
• Hands-on experience managing donor pipelines using CRM software (experience with Bloomerang is highly preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to advocate compassionately for diverse individuals and confidently pitch to community stakeholders.
