Who we are looking for: Legal Aid of North Carolina is seeking a full-time Senior IT Systems & Data Specialist. The Senior IT Systems & Data Specialist serves as a key resource for organizational reporting, data management, systems administration, training, and technology adoption. This position requires the ability to work across departments, understand business and reporting needs, and develop practical systems, data, and workflow improvements that enhance decision-making, operational efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.

What you will do: 

  • Design, build, and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics for leadership, program operations, compliance, audits, grants, and funder reporting.
  • Work with and modify integrated reporting pulling from multiple source databases using Power BI data models and reports.
  • Monitor data quality and integrity, identify and resolve data issues, and improve processes to reduce duplication, manual work, and reporting errors.
  • Serve as primary internal administrator for LANC’s client portal, JusticeHub, through Stacker and Air Table, including data and reporting out of those systems.
  • Serve as the lead IT integration point for Innovation Lab technology projects, participating in planning, development, testing, documentation, and implementation and assuming responsibility for assigned tools as they transition to IT for ongoing support and maintenance.
  • Develop and deliver IT systems training, including staff training, office hours, LMS courses, and educational content supporting new systems, features, processes, and technology changes.
  • Create and maintain staff-facing and internal IT documentation, including ServiceNow knowledge articles, procedures, troubleshooting guidance, SharePoint content, system documentation, IT communications, and user support resources.
  • Coordinate change management for assigned technology rollouts and system improvements, including communications, user testing and UAT, training, documentation, issue tracking, and post-launch follow-up.
  • Partner across departments to identify data, reporting, system, and workflow needs and translate them into practical technology improvements that support effective system use and organizational goals.

What you will bring to Legal Aid of North Carolina:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, systems administration, IT training, technical documentation, or related technology support roles.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to support organizational decision-making.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Experience with databases, reporting platforms, case management systems, learning management systems, CRMs, SharePoint, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, advanced reporting tools, or comparable business intelligence platforms.
  • Familiarity with performance measurement, grant reporting, compliance reporting, or data-driven operational environments.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, knowledge base articles, user guides, training materials, or support resources.
  • Experience delivering live, virtual, and eLearning-based technology training for non-technical users.
  • Experience administering or supporting technology platforms, including user access management, system configuration, workflow design, and content maintenance.
  • Experience supporting technology implementations, system rollouts, process improvements, and change management initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Collaborative and customer-service-oriented approach to supporting staff and stakeholders.
  • Experience in nonprofit, legal services, public sector, or other mission-driven organizations preferred.
