North Raleigh Ministries (NRM) is a faith-based nonprofit that equips families and individuals in crisis with the resources and skills they need to achieve stability. Through evidence-informed, community-based programs, NRM works to foster hope, purpose, and long-term well-being for individuals and families in our community.

We are seeking a Director of Programs to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across NRM’s program areas. This position reports to the Executive Director and plays a key role in ensuring programs are mission-aligned, responsive to community needs, grounded in best practices, and delivered with excellence.

Program Leadership and Strategy

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for NRM’s programs, ensuring alignment with organizational mission, values, and strategic priorities
  • Conduct periodic community needs assessments and translate findings into program development and refinement
  • Ensure programs are evidence-informed, outcomes-driven, and delivered with fidelity
  • Collaborate with the Finance Director to develop and manage sustainable program budgets
  • Monitor staffing ratios to ensure programs are adequately supported by staff and volunteers

Staff Leadership, Supervision, and Development

  • Provide direct supervision to the Food Pantry Programs Manager, Social Work Programs Manager, and Pastoral Care Programs Manager
  • Support program leaders in setting goals, evaluating outcomes, and developing their teams
  • Lead regular all-program meetings to promote collaboration, alignment, and shared learning
  • Ensure program staff receive ongoing supervision, training, and professional development
  • Ensure volunteers are trained and supported to serve through a person-centered, trauma-informed lens

Community Engagement and Program Messaging

  • Lead programmatic messaging that clearly communicates the need, solution, and impact of NRM’s work
  • Represent NRM with churches, funders, community partners, and stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong community partnerships rooted in shared understanding and collaboration

Program Data, Grants, and Systems

  • Support grant identification, application, and reporting in collaboration with leadership and development staff
  • Oversee program outcome tracking and reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and enhance NRM’s client tracking system (Apricot), ensuring data integrity and useful reporting for program assessment

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work with NC Clinical Licensure (LCSW preferred; LCSWA considered) or related degree with full NC licensure
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience overseeing program leaders and evidence-informed programs
  • Strong grounding in person-centered and trauma-informed practices
  • Familiarity with Brief Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complexity, and communicate a clear programmatic vision

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $80,000–$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and licensure
