ROLE OVERVIEW
The Development & Marketing Manager plays a critical role in execution and coordination,
supporting SERP’s fundraising, communications, and brand presence. Reporting to the Director of Resource Development, this role supports donor outreach and fundraising operations, develops compelling impact narratives, manages marketing and communications, and serves as a key liaison with external consultants and partners.
Development Operations & Donor Support
Inform and support the implementation of SERP's annual fundraising plan in coordination with the Director of Resource Development, CEO, and board committees.
Be accountable for annual fundraising goals and benchmarks in partnership with the Director of Resource Development and CEO.
Support the donor stewardship program to include coordinating donor events and outreach activities, and preparing and tracking timely donor acknowledgements and gift receipts
Cultivate and plan donor touchpoints and strategic engagement opportunities for the CEO and Board
Actively pursue and coordinate opportunities for the organization to communicate and raise
awareness about opportunities to support SERP and its mission.
Research and identify potential grant sources, support grant writing and reporting, and manage the grant calendar and compliance documentation to ensure timely and accurate tracking of all foundation and government funding.
Lead and support the coordination and tracking of volunteer engagement and events.
Serve as a liaison to external fundraising contractors or consultants, as directed by the Director of Resource Development.
Update and maintain the CRM with accurate, timely information on donor interactions, gifts, and engagement history.
Impact Storytelling & Narrative Development
Support the development of impact narratives and stories in partnership with the program and PR and communications team, operations staff, ensuring content reflects SERP's community outcomes and collective impact model.
Coordinate with the PR and Communications team and consultants to ensure impact stories and messaging align with fundraising priorities and SERP's brand voice.
Brand Management & Public Engagement
Serve as the internal liaison to the branding agency and external PR, media, and marketing
consultants, ensuring brand consistency and alignment across development materials and donor-facing communications to include social media and website.
Support external communications related to fundraising and donor-facing announcements in
coordination with the PR and Communications team and consultants.
Oversee timely updates to the website and company collateral.
Coordinate graphic design requests and ensure brand consistency.
Data, Reporting, & Performance Tracking
Collaborate with the Director of Resource Development and fiancé team to conduct monthly donation, pledge, and accounts receivable reconciliation to ensure accuracy and accountability.
Gather and track data related to marketing and fundraising activities, including engagement metrics and campaign performance.
Gather data and prepare reports and summaries to support internal learning, decision-making, and reporting needs.
Support the board committee responsible for achieving and tracking fund raising goals.

Proven skill in distilling information into compelling, easily digestible narratives; presenting information in an inspiring and persuasive manner
Proven ability to listen and respond to develop mutual understanding and trust
Expert written and verbal communication skills
Awareness and willingness to grow in the understanding and application of practices that promote racial equity and inclusion
A consummate professional with high ethical standards of conduct, integrity, and fiduciary responsibility.
Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of professional experience in philanthropy
Preferred candidates bring experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing strategy, and brand management to strengthen our mission’s reach and impact.
