Program Manager, AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Program

Two Positions Available: Wake County and Durham County

The Triangle Nonprofit & Volunteer Leadership Center (TNVLC) is seeking two experienced, community-focused professionals to serve as Program Managers for the AmeriCorps Seniors Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). One Program Manager will serve Wake County and one Program Manager will serve Durham County. These positions provide leadership and oversight for one of the nation's largest federally funded volunteer networks for adults age 55 and older.

AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP is a free program that helps older adults find meaningful volunteer opportunities that match their skills, experience, and interests. Through partnerships with nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and faith-based organizations, RSVP connects adults age 55 and older with opportunities to address critical community needs while remaining active, engaged, and connected to their communities.

The Program Manager plays a vital role in strengthening volunteerism and community engagement within their assigned county. This position is responsible for recruiting, supporting, and retaining RSVP volunteers; developing and maintaining relationships with community organizations and volunteer stations; and ensuring volunteers are successfully matched with opportunities that create measurable impact. The Program Manager serves as the primary liaison between volunteers, community partners, and AmeriCorps Seniors, fostering collaborative relationships that advance the mission of the program.

Working within federal grant guidelines and AmeriCorps Seniors requirements, the Program Manager oversees the administration, growth, and sustainability of the RSVP program. The successful candidate will ensure program compliance, monitor performance measures, coordinate volunteer engagement activities, manage reporting requirements, and support efforts to expand volunteer participation and community partnerships.

The Program Manager will actively engage with the community through meetings, presentations, conferences, and special events. This position requires strong relationship-building skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for older adults through meaningful service opportunities.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, along with experience in volunteer management, community outreach, program administration, marketing, and grant-funded programs. Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a passion for community engagement and service.

This is a full-time, exempt position based in person. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required. Candidates must successfully pass a background check and possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
