Coordinated Care Support Specialist (Front Desk)

Position Summary

The Coordinated Care Specialist is responsible for all tasks related to greeting, welcoming and checking guests of Oak City Cares in for the services they are requesting. The person in this position is also responsible for managing the list of guests waiting for different services from both Oak City Cares and our onsite partners, and documenting the data related to services in the NC HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) database.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree or other 2-year degree, including technical/trade school
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field
  • Must have a calm and welcoming demeanor
  • Demonstrated understanding of the concepts of hospitality and engagement
  • An attitude of compassion and acceptance and desire to work with a diverse population is required
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to lead volunteers and interact with guests
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a primary focus on guests and their needs
  • Must be able to handle crisis situations and de-escalate situations while remaining calm and focused
  • Previous data entry and data tracking experience
  • Skills: Proven computer skills including Word, Excel and other appropriate applications including databases

Special Requirements

  • Valid NC Driver’s License and a vehicle in working order for business use
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
