Capital Campaign Manager
Hybrid in North Carolina
Full Time, Exempt, Temporary (August 2026 – December 2027)
North Carolina Outward Bound School (NCOBS) is seeking a highly organized and relationship-oriented Capital Campaign Manager to help lead the successful execution of our 60th Anniversary Capital Campaign. This role will serve as the central coordinator for campaign operations, working closely with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to advance campaign goals and deliver meaningful fundraising and engagement opportunities.
Applicants must be able to travel to our Asheville, NC office at least once per month. This is a temporary (August 2026 - December 2027) position.
Position Details
As the Capital Campaign Manager, you'll serve as the coordinator and project manager for NCOBS's 60th Anniversary Capital Campaign. You will:
- Manage campaign timelines, milestones, and project plans to ensure initiatives stay on track
- Coordinate campaign committees, meetings, and communications among staff, volunteers, and leadership
- Organize fundraising activities and track campaign progress, assignments, and key deadlines
- Plan and execute donor events, celebrations, and community engagement opportunities
- Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, venues, and other campaign partners
- Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for campaign leadership and stakeholders
- Maintain organized systems, records, and processes that support campaign success
- Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment, efficiency, and a positive experience for donors, volunteers, and community partners
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Three to five years of experience in project management, nonprofit administration, event management, campaign coordination, or a related field
- Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience coordinating meetings, events, and stakeholder communications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, project management tools, and CRM/database systems
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, leadership, vendors, and community partners
- Self-motivated, proactive, and highly accountable
- Salesforce experience or certification is a plus
- Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent) is a plus
- Experience supporting nonprofit fundraising or capital campaigns preferred
- Familiarity with donor databases and fundraising reporting preferred
- Experience working with volunteer committees and community stakeholder preferred
Work Environment & Employment Requirements
- Ability to travel to Asheville, NC, at least once per month
- Flexibility to support occasional events and campaign deadlines outside regular business hours
- Successful completion of background and motor vehicle records checks
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, transport, and set up event materials and office supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
