The mission of The Forestlands Conservation Foundation is to preserve and protect natural ecological processes and biological diversity through land conservation. FCF supports the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, adopted in 2022 by the United Nations Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, and joins its efforts. Our vision is for: a) 30% to 50% of the land area across our service area to be protected from development in a connected network from the oceans to the mountains; b) increased private-sector funding for conservation land acquisitions; c) strong partnerships with landowners, real estate professionals, government agencies, conservation groups, and private citizens with a shared goal of preserving biological diversity and ecosystem services for the future; and d) faster land conservation response time so that when critical conservation lands are available for purchase, we can act quickly to acquire them.
