  • The Nonprofit Radio Show - Hosts Nancy Bacon and Sarah Brooks created a podcast aimed at board or staff members of small nonprofits. Each episode has a corresponding webpage with the recording, topic description, plus reflection and discussion questions for the listener and their team.

     

  • Anti-Discrimination Laws: North Carolina (Smith Anderson, 2020) is part of the Practical Law series by the Thomson Reuters company. It is a "Q&A guide to state anti-discrimination law for private employers in North Carolina. This Q&A addresses North Carolina laws prohibiting discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

  • Age discrimination as defined by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission:

  • The Racial Equity Message Guide grew out of a request from advocates to advance both equitable policies and conversations about structural racism with decisionmakers. The guide includes tested messages to secure racial equity language in public policy. (American Heart Association's Voices for Healthy Kids, 2021)

  • More Than Numbers: A Guide toward Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Demographic Data Collection outlines best practices and provides recommendations for inclusive and respectful demographic data collection by organizations. "Collecting data is about more than just numbers: It is an opportunity to listen and understand the stories and experiences of the individuals we seek to serve." Appendices include links to further valuable resources.

  • Microsoft's Disability Answer Desk offers archived recordings of their 12-part Accessibility Learning Webinar Series from 2019 and their 3-part mini series on working remotely from 2020. These presentations are intended to demonstrate how Microsoft's products are accessible to differently abled folks, as well as compatible with assistive technology, and how abled folks can use products like Teams or

  • Racial Equity Toolkit: An Opportunity to Operationalize Equity can be used by community-based organizations to engage with government officials to advance racial equity. The appedix also includes a "Racial Equity Tool Worksheet" for guiding discussions. (The Local & Regional Government Alliance on Race and Equity, 2015)

  • "Does Your Board Need To Be More Diverse? Here's How To Do It." provides guidance for when and how nonprofits can create a board with demographically diverse backgrounds that achieves inclusivity and equity among board members.
