ALICE Virtual Training

WNC Nonprofit Pathways, in partnership with WNC Bridge Foundation, invites nonprofit staff across Western North Carolina to participate in a live, virtual ALICE Training.

ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate. The approach gives people options for responding to an active assailant or other violent critical incident, rather than relying on a single response. Led by an ALICE National Trainer, this three-hour session will cover:

  • The foundation of ALICE strategies
  • Why proactive, options-based responses can be effective
  • How ALICE strategies can be applied in different situations
  • Realistic scenarios that give participants a chance to think through their response
  • Practical ways to strengthen situational awareness, communication, preparedness

The training is designed to be useful for nonprofit employees working in office, remote, and hybrid settings. The goal is not to create fear, but to help people feel better prepared and more confident about the options available to them if they are ever faced with violence.

Content note: This training addresses active assailant violence and includes realistic scenarios. We recognize that this subject matter may be difficult for some participants.
