paws4people foundation was founded by Kyria Henry in 1999, when she was just 12 years old, with the purpose of using dogs as a means of helping people.
This nonprofit’s mission is educating and empowering people to utilize Assistance Dogs to transform their lives.
We have 500 highly trained Assistance Dogs with one or more certifications providing support in areas such as mobility and psychiatric service, educational and rehabilitative assistance, and therapeutic visitation. Together, these dogs have made more than 1,000,000 therapeutic contacts.To provide lifelong sanctuary for farm animals in need of a safe and natural environment; educating people about the cruelties of factory farming; and de-mystifying veganism by providing education and exposure to vegan food.

To promote the humane treatment of animals through public education of responsible pet ownership and the operation of a no-kill facility.

To provide a licensed, No-Kill shelter for homeless animal until adopted into a loving and caring lifetime enviornment: to reduce the population of stray animals, and to promote responsible pet ownership.

To promote respect for all animals, as well as agricultural, environmental and wildlife conservation and facilitates rehabilitation, rescue, and responsible pet ownership in order to enhance the human-animal bond.
The North Carolina Aquarium Society is a private, nonprofit organization whose purpose it provide philanthropic support for the three state-operated North Carolina Aquariums at Fort Fisher, Pine Knoll Shores and Roanoke Island, as well as Jennette's Pier in Nags Head. This support is provided through donations, exhibit and program sponsorship, membership programs, gift shop operations, and advocacy. These efforts support the Aquariums’ operational and capital needs, as well as their mission to "Inspire appreciation and conservation of our aquatic environments."
