  • ASAP (Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project) is a nonprofit based in Asheville, North Carolina, serving the Southern Appalachian region. Our mission is to help local farms thrive, link farmers to markets and supporters, and build healthy communities through connections to local food.

  • Meals on Wheels Rowan provides a nutritious meal delivered by volunteers who offer a friendly greeting and provide an informal safety check to homebound seniors and disabled citizens of Rowan County.

  • To reduce hunger and malnutrition in northwest North Carolina by acquiring and distributing food to supplement the food needs of faith and community-based organizations; advocating for the rights of hungry people; educating the public about hunger; and pursuing partnerships with like-minded organizations.

  • To serve as a link between the food industry, individuals, government, and the hungry by soliciting, warehousing, processing, and distributing nutritional food and household products to a network of private nonprofit community organizations which serve those in need.

  • PORCH Chapel Hill-Carrboro fights hunger by mobilizing neighbors, building community, and providing fresh, healthy food.

  • Inter-Faith Food Shuttle feeds our neighbors, teaches self-sufficiency, grows healthy foods, and cultivates innovative approaches to end hunger. We collaborate with partners across 7 counties of central North Carolina towards a shared vision of a hunger free community.

    Our diverse array of programs equips food-insecure neighbors to provide healthy food for themselves; respect, autonomy, empowerment, and education are key to our “Feed-Teach-Grow” approach.

  • To promote sustainable agriculture, to provide a forum for support and discussion of environmentally responsible agriculture, and to work toward a community supported by organically-grown farm products.

  • MOWOCNC alleviates hunger and reduces isolation and loneliness through the delivery of nutritious meals accompanied by friendly check-ins, to older adults, homebound adults, adults with disabilities and those convalescing who do not have access to, or the ability to prepare, healthy meals.
